All Progressive Party (APC) Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde has vowed to use all her political connections to ensure that APC remains indivisible party in the council areas.
With this, Alhaja Faidat assured that her wealth of experience would be brought to bear towards ensuring that all misunderstands and political differences are amicably resolved.
The Chairman gave this assurance on Wednesday during the inauguration of the party's Council Executive cum opening of party secretariat held at Ori Omi axis of Oke Sokori, Abeokuta, the state capital.
She promised to use her wealth of experience in the political corridor to unite party members as well as work for the progress of the party towards wining all forthcoming elections in the Council areas.
"All inherited political misunderstandings or those that mighty have occurred during the Ward and Local government Congresses would be resolved amicably" she declared.
First Awareness reports that ,Alhaja Sarumi Akintunde was newly elected chairman of APC in Abeokuta North Local Government areas of Ogun State.
A one time Chairman and councilor of the council,Alhaja Faidat solicited for the support of party members towards ensuring that the party progresses and become one united family.
The chairman also appreciated the support of the political leaders in the council with a promise not to disappoint them.
She appreciated specially,Chief Bode Mustapha, Rt. Hon. Egbetokun, Alhaji Fatai Bodunrin, Prince Tunde Tella, Hon. Femi Adiro, Hon. Kunle Adeshina, Hon. Olumide Osoba and others for their support.
,“I am grateful to Almighty Allah for the privileged and opportunity given to me to serve our great party, APC in the capacity as the Abeokuta North Local Government chairman.
“I didn’t plan or dream of it in the first instance but the will of God prevails. The journey so far was never easy but through the support and cooperations of our leaders and elders we were able to to reach a compromise in the interest of the party. The task ahead of us is how to strategize and make sure we win the forthcoming elections as that cannot be compromised.
“Let me quickly say a big thank you to leaders and elders of our local government, the political juggernauts at Okemosan for identifying me as suitable personality to paddle the canoe of the local government politics to a safe harbor.
“The roles of chief Bode Mustapha , Rt Hon. Egbetokun, Alhaji Fatai Bodunrin, Prince Tunde Tella, Hon. Femi Adiro and Hon. Kunle Adeshina can not be over emphasized.
“I am experienced enough to know the problems of the local government. I want to promise all the party members that I will use my past and present experiences to work towards the progress of the party.
“I can’t stop without thanking all my wards and Local Government executive members for their Support since the inception of my tenure.
“However, our party Secretariat can never be born without the financial contribution and kind support of our loved ones, all the chairmanship aspirants in the local government. I want to specially appreciate Hon. Tajudeen Ishola, Hon. Lanre Sodipo, Hon. Oluseye and Hon. Motun." Alhaja Faidat concluded.
Meanwhile, Hon. Olumide Osoba in his address described Alhaja Faidat as an experienced and great politician, saying that she will perform wonderfully well in office.
He submitted that Faidat is capable and strong to pilot the affairs of the party in the local government.
Osoba therefore acknowledged the presence of all the leaders , elders and members of the party.
The former transition committee chairman, Hon. Tunde Tella also hailed Faidat’s efforts and commitment towards ensuring APC wins in 2023.
He called on other inaugurated members to work together with the party chairman in order to move the party forward.
Also the commissioner for rural development, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun popularly known as Twinny called on members of the party in the local government to support Alhaja Faidat in taking the party forward and ensure victory in 2023.
